Juozo Ambrazevičiaus-Brazaičio Street
surrounds northern and western parts of Mokolai micro-district. The street is bordered by Vilkaviškio Street to the south and by Mokolų Street to the east. The length of the street is 0, 948 km.
In 1979 street was named A. Venclovos Street.
In 1989 a part of A. Venslovos Street was named J. Gagarino Street.
In 1994 it was named Juozo Ambrazevičiaus-Brazaičio Street.
In 1999 part of Juozo-Ambrazevičiaus Brazaičio Street was renamed. Street’s section from Vilkaviškio Street to Tarpučių Street was named Vokiečių Street (English: Germans’ Street).
Juozas Ambrazevičius – Brazaitis (1903-1974) was a literary theorist, educator, public figure, participant of anti-Nazi and anti-Soviet resistance. He acted as the Prime Minister of the Provisional Government of Lithuania in 1941. While attending Marijampole gymnasium Juozas Ambrazevičius – Brazaitis joined The Ateitininkai (a secret student organization) activities, wrote publications.
