A wooden cross to commemorate 80th anniversary of the diocese of Vilkaviškis was built in 2006. It is placed in the southern building’s corner. The oak cross is 6 meter in height, decorated with sculptures of crucified Jesus Christ and Mary the Blessed Virgin.
The author the object is folk artist and cross maker Kazimieras Martinaitis. The artist works and lives in Garliava (Kaunas). His creations could be found in many locations around a word: Lithuania, USA, Germany, Latvia, Estonia, and in some Africa countries.
